The Opportunity
Due to ongoing growth and increased demand for high-level technical support, we are seeking an experienced Application Director – Mechanical Seals Specialist. This fully remote role will operate across the United States, serving as the company’s key technical authority for mechanical sealing solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, distributors, and internal teams to ensure the effective application, troubleshooting, and optimization of sealing products in diverse industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical expert for mechanical seals, providing advanced application guidance and problem-solving support nationwide.
- Collaborate with sales teams to evaluate customer requirements and develop tailored sealing solutions.
- Conduct site assessments, failure analyses, and root-cause investigations to ensure proper installation and performance of sealing systems.
- Lead technical training sessions for customers, partners, and internal personnel.
- Support new product launches by assisting with field trials, application validation, and customer adoption strategies.
- Develop detailed technical reports, recommendations, and documentation for complex applications.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, delivering value-added expertise and contributing to long-term account growth.
- Stay current on industry standards, technological developments, and emerging trends within mechanical sealing and rotating equipment.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in mechanical seal technology, application engineering, or fluid sealing technical support.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with in-depth knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, and industrial process systems.
- Proven background in diagnosing sealing failures and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable supporting a national territory with regular travel to customer sites.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with process industries such as chemical, power generation, pulp & paper, refining, mining, or water/wastewater is highly advantageous.
