Our client is a fast-growing business and one of the largest private rolling stock leasing companies in Europe, with the fleet currently used in over 20 European locations.
Location
This role will be is a hybrid working opportunity, based in Cologne, Germany.
Reporting Line
As the Commercial Manager, you will report into the Commercial Director.
The Role & Responsibilities
In the role of the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible growth and development of the company’s leasing activities on both a national and international scale, focusing on the lease of the existing fleet as well as identifying and generating new business.
- Work on European tenders across both railway operations and rolling stock.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary internal teams on conception, creation, development and negotiation of a wide range of complex contracts, working closely with both customers and suppliers.
- Undertake key account management of both current and new accounts, providing both commercial and technical insights.
- Oversee compliance assurance and securing internal approval and authorisation, budget management and reporting.
- Travel across Europe, visiting both current clients and potential prospects to help drive business.
Requirements\Qualifications
- Educated with a Degree in a relevant subject, including Economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Studies or similar.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
- Fluent in both German and English.
- Demonstrable experience in the Commercial/Key Account Management of Rolling Stock, with the ability to manage relationships with existing customers & manufacturers, as well as identify and pursue new business opportunities across Europe.
- Willingness to travel across Europe.
- Experience across the Passenger Rail Rolling Stock sectors would be preferable. Other sectors that would be considered include Locomotive and Cargo/Freight experience.
