We are working alongside our client who operates internationally within the Mining sector to hire a Director of Business Development to be based in their Denver, CO office.

The client

The client is recognised as one of the world’s leading EPC technology providers when it comes to high-capacity run-of-mine and bulk material handling. As a business, their brand portfolio ranges from overburden removal to raw material extraction, comminution, conveying, loading/unloading, processing, homogenizing, blending, storage and final loading for onward shipment.

The Role

The successful applicant for this position should develop, negotiate, and implement partnerships with companies, and other Relationships by performing the following ‘Responsibilities’ listed below either personally or through subordinates.


Minimum Education/Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or Engineering with experience in proposal development.  Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible high‐level, related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.   

Preferred Education/Experience: 

5 – 8 years of progressively responsible management, business, or bulk material handling/mining and minerals industry, proposal development experience; experience in dealing with high‐level executive officials with demonstrated ability for independent judgment. 


Directly supervises 2‐ to 6 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning; assigning, and directing work’ appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Role & Responsibilities


1. Develop and implement strategic plans to meet sales targets and objectives. 

2. Develop strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market products or services.   

3. Collaborate with internal departments, such as marketing, sales, and engineering, and external partners and allies in the development implementation and marketing of strategies, plans, and business models. 

4. Responsible for marketing and sales reporting to Europe. 

5. Lead the sales department in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance development projects.   

6. Provide input and expertise to the management team on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.   

7. Research and learn all new emerging technologies and trends.   

8. Manage CRK (Risk Committee) process on applicable projects. 

9. Responsible for maintaining the company's CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software. 

10. Oversee and organise trade show participation set‐up. 

11. Oversees planning of marketing and promotions, including advertising and marketing strategies.   

12. Market new and existing customers through the creation, development, and implementation of various business solutions. 

13. Estimates demand for proposed projects based on market research and consumer trends.
