We are working alongside our client in the Carbon/Data Centre Cooling industry sector based across Europe and the United States in search of a Business Development Manager or Director.

Location: Remote, United States

The Role 

We’re on the hunt for a dynamic and driven Business Developer to spearhead the growth of our USA Data Center Business.

Business Development:

  • Identify, engage, and expand new business opportunities within the data center sector, with a focus on advanced cooling solutions.
  • Conduct market analysis to assess industry trends, competitive landscape, and evolving customer needs in data center cooling.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive market growth and increase revenue.
  • Explore additional business opportunities that align with the broader goals of the organisation.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including data center operators, construction firms, and technology partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert insights on tailored cooling solutions.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction and strong business partnerships.

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of various cooling technologies, such as liquid cooling, air cooling, and hybrid solutions, and effectively communicate their benefits to potential clients.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to develop and propose customised cooling solutions for data center applications.
  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in cooling technology and industry best practices to provide cutting-edge recommendations.

Sales Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute data-driven sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Manage the entire sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and deal closure.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts, market insights, and performance reports to senior leadership.

Partnership Development:

  • Cultivate partnerships with equipment manufacturers, technology providers, and service companies to strengthen the company’s cooling solutions portfolio.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance visibility and business opportunities.

Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with internal teams across sales, engineering, operations, supply chain, and marketing to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing collateral, case studies, and technical documentation to support business development efforts.

Requirements\Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field. A focus on mechanical engineering or HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the data center, HVAC, or energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and cooling technologies.
  • Skills: Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cooling systems and their application in data centers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with large-scale data center projects.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainable cooling practices.
  • Established a network of contacts within the data center cooling industry.
