This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled, multinational field service team that supports customers worldwide across a variety of critical industries.
In this role, you will take a leading position in the installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance of complex rotating machinery, including compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps, and mechanical seals, at customer sites across the world. You will serve as the technical front line of the organisation, providing exceptional service, troubleshooting expertise, and trusted guidance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance.
Role Summary
As an International Field Service Engineer, you will provide on-site technical leadership for the full lifecycle of rotating equipment. This includes installation, start-up, inspections, troubleshooting, overhaul supervision, and performance evaluation. Acting as the face of the business at customer facilities, you will support mission-critical equipment in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, water & wastewater, chemical processing, steel, mining, and broader industrial markets.
You will collaborate closely with customer teams, internal engineering groups, and global service centres to deliver world-class support and long-term equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute global, on-site service activities in response to customer needs, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of rotating equipment (compressors, steam & gas turbines, pumps, seals).
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective actions efficiently and safely.
- Lead and supervise complete repair cycles: disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, alignment, and testing.
- Monitor equipment during commissioning, start-up, and performance runs to ensure operational compliance.
- Train and guide customer personnel on proper operation and maintenance of rotating equipment.
- Provide on-site technical direction and oversight during maintenance events, outages, and overhauls.
- Manage field resources, work scopes, schedules, and contractor supervision.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, repair centres, customer service, and sales support teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including service reports, inspection findings, time/material records, and recommended corrective actions.
- Support field service planning, back-office engineering tasks, and continuous improvement of service processes.
- Advise on equipment upgrades, retrofits, and reliability enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with rotating equipment, including compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, pumps, mechanical seals, or similar turbomachinery.
- Proven field service experience in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair methods.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering documents (sectional drawings, construction drawings, assembly drawings, P&IDs, alignment specifications, piping specifications, flushing/blowing procedures).
- Proficiency in mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, bore gauges).
- Solid understanding of industrial applications involving pumps, valves, seals, actuators, and rotating equipment.
- Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent English communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Willingness to travel globally for extended periods and work overtime when required.
