Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee the transition of the project from exploration and development into a fully operational mining site. This role will be responsible for establishing operational systems, building site teams, and ensuring the safe and efficient start-up of mining operations.
Working closely with technical and corporate leadership, the Operations Manager will support operational readiness, commissioning, and the ramp-up to commercial production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transition from exploration and development into an operating mine site.
- Develop and implement operational readiness plans, including staffing, systems, and infrastructure.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations including mining, maintenance, and site services.
- Ensure production targets, operational performance, and cost objectives are achieved.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, geology, and project teams to support commissioning and operational ramp-up.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in mining operations.
- Experience supporting mine development or operational start-ups.
- Strong leadership experience managing operational teams.
- Experience in remote or challenging operating environments is advantageous.
