About the Role
Mackinnon Bruce International is partnering with a leading Speciality Material Manufacturer to recruit a Quality & EHS Manager (m/w/d) for their Berlin site.
This pivotal role holds overall responsibility for Quality Management and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS). The successful candidate will lead compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001, manage a small team, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance operational excellence and ensure a safe, compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality:
- Lead Quality Management at the Berlin site in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 50001:2011.
- Oversee internal and external audits, and develop and monitor CAPAs to ensure effectiveness.
- Act as a change agent to drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Manage laboratory operations, including test methods and the development of QA staff.
- Lead complaint management, root cause analysis, and preparation of 8D reports.
- Achieve and report on site quality KPIs (e.g., complaint volume and resolution times).
- Deliver quality training and implement global and regional strategies.
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to a team of up to three employees.
EHS:
- Ensure compliance with internal/external Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
- Implement global and regional EHS initiatives and enhance the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
- Guide occupational safety, health protection, and ergonomic workplace design in line with EU directives.
- Lead risk management, especially regarding hazardous substances.
- Conduct inspections, develop and follow up on action plans in collaboration with safety specialists.
- Achieve site EHS KPIs (e.g., Near Miss and BBS reporting).
- Deliver EHS training and foster a strong culture of safety awareness.
- Manage and mentor one EHS team member.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years’ professional experience in Quality and EHS Management, with expertise in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001:2011.
- Proven leadership skills in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High degree of flexibility, proactivity, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Fluent in German and English preferred.
