Position Overview
This position focuses on expanding sales and market presence within the U.S. and Canadian municipal water and wastewater treatment sectors. The role involves developing and managing a network of manufacturer representatives, agents, and distributors, with a strong emphasis on promoting advanced mechanical treatment and screening technologies for municipal applications.
The successful candidate will possess a solid engineering foundation combined with strong business development skills, capable of building relationships with consulting engineering firms, contractors, and integrators to ensure the company’s technologies are specified in new capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and evaluate the performance of manufacturer representatives, agents, and distributors within the municipal water and wastewater sectors.
- Promote and sell water intake screening and wastewater mechanical pre-treatment technologies to municipalities across the United States and Canada.
- Develop relationships with consulting engineering firms to influence project specifications.
- Collaborate with contractors and system integrators to ensure company solutions are included in the design and construction of municipal water treatment systems.
- Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to provide insights to company leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all company, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Uphold the company’s quality standards, adhering to the Quality System Manual, technical procedures, and work instructions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience managing manufacturers’ representatives and driving sales growth in capital equipment markets.
- Technical understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment (e.g., filters, pumps, screens, or heat exchangers).
- Demonstrated ability to present and promote technical solutions to engineering firms and municipal clients.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Approximately 50% travel required within the assigned territory, with occasional international travel for training.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to access industrial and treatment plant sites.
- Minimum of 10 years of successful technical sales experience in the water or wastewater industry.
