Description

One of my key clients is a global leader in packaging and paper. This division specialises in providing flexible packaging solutions for consumer goods, focusing on sustainability and innovation. Their product range includes a variety of packaging formats such as pouches, bags, and films, which are used in sectors like food, pet care, personal care, and household products.

They are now looking to recruit an S&OP Manager, who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for our business segment. The candidate would also indirectly lead an international, cross-functional project team, and support their sales and plant network in achieving their key objectives, such as customer service, asset utilisation, and growth. Additionally, would serve as the key interface for sharing knowledge, best practices, and information related to S&OP and integrated planning across various business segments.

Some of the responsibilities are;

Global S&OP Framework Development:

  • Process Ownership: Manage demand planning, demand allocation, and aspects of demand fulfillment, ensuring data accuracy, smooth information flow, and automation.
  • Application Ownership: Oversee statistical forecasting in SAP SAC and its interface with SAP ECC and OMP, along with comprehensive reporting.
  • Organisational Ownership: Ensure there is a backup (at least 1 FTE) at the segment level, supporting operations and framework enhancements.
  • Support for S&OP Performance: Define vision, mission, and strategy aligned with corporate goals. Establish a reporting framework and key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuously improve efficiency and automation.

Global Team Development:

  • Team Building: Foster a global team of professionals, including a central team around the S&OP framework and a decentralised team of experts.
  • Role Clarity: Develop clear roles, responsibilities, and substitution mechanisms. Balance efficiency with resilience and agility.
  • Long-term Planning: Identify and promote potential future leaders and maintain high performance through continuous benchmarking.

We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics, finance, or a related field, and at least five years of relevant experience in designing and implementing end-to-end processes within SAP and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate should have a strong ability to translate business cases into processes and customer requirements into technical specifications. Being open-minded, creative, and having an analytical mindset is also crucial for this role. The position requires a willingness to travel up to 30%, and fluency in English is essential, with additional languages considered a plus.
