The client
Our client is a global specialist infrastructure provider that owns, develops, and manages high-quality, sustainable logistics assets and data centers across major cities worldwide, supporting the backbone of the digital economy. Our client is undertaking a major data centre build as part of a global platform with extensive power capacity exceeding 3.5 GW
The Role
- The initial project due diligence for all government approvals related to construction, project engineering, design, and the construction of each project phase.
- Manage the entire process of data center construction projects, from site selection and initial due diligence to design, permitting, ground-up construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.
- Create a written project program and schedule for all phases of the work and weekly reporting of activity.
- Engage and issue contracts to design professionals, consultants, coordinators, and contractors, using approved contract forms for the work.
As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will oversee the management of Data Center construction projects. You will be responsible for all aspects related to construction, starting from initial project due diligence and continuing through each phase of the construction process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is strongly preferred.
- Requires at least eight (8) years of experience in construction and real estate development, including a minimum of four (4) years in data center and mission-critical project management roles.
- Proven experience in managing the construction of substations, switching centers, and high-voltage electrical infrastructure for data centers or similar critical facilities.
- Must be experienced and proficient in public speaking. Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus
- Must have experience in negotiating and facilitating legal contracts, change orders, and other necessary documents.
- Must have a thorough understanding of building and construction concepts.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have strong abilities with Microsoft computer software (including Project and Bluebeam); and Yardi
- This role would require 4 days on site per week
