Our client is a global leader within the personal care and life sciences sectors. Working on a global basis, they supply a wide range of raw materials to these sectors. Our client is an industry leader in innovation and sustainability. Due to the continued growth of the organisation, they are looking to hire a Toxicology Specialist to join the UK business.
The role
- Providing toxicological expertise, including up-to-date advice on NAMs, to internal business partners
- Providing toxicological product and substance-specific support to customers with an emphasis on novel non-animal approaches to hazard and safety assessment
- Contributing to the evolution of the approach to hazard/safety assessment to deliver to the current and future needs of categories and regions (i.e. use of in silico tools, read across, NAMs)
- Delivery of technical input into the strategic decision-making of the Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs Groups
- Preparing for, and participating in, workshops and representing the company at Trade Associations, Conferences and Initiatives supporting alternatives to animal testing
The requirements
- Educated to degree level in toxicology or life sciences, with relevant experience in a toxicology-related field and hazard and safety assessment
- Educated to master’s or PhD level in toxicology or life sciences (desirable but not essential), but with relevant experience in a toxicology-related field and hazard and safety assessment
- Experienced/knowledgeable in alternatives to animal testing for hazard and safety assessment to proactively support Business development
- Experienced in read across to support product development and ingredient defence
- In possession of excellent written and spoken communication skills
- A strong team player capable of building effective working relationships across functions within the company
- Able to impart technical knowledge to a (senior) management audience and be able to translate complex ideas into appropriate language for a non-technical audience
