Description
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Mobile Equipment Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, performance, and lifecycle management of a diverse fleet of heavy mobile equipment across four active quarry sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal availability, reliability, and safety of approximately 70–80 pieces of equipment, including brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and John Deere. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to lead and support maintenance teams across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of mobile equipment fleet operations across four quarry facilities.
- Manage the maintenance and repair schedules for equipment, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement strategies to extend equipment life and reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with site managers and maintenance supervisors to align equipment availability with production goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to mobile equipment operations.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance history.
- Assist with capital planning, equipment replacement strategies, and budgeting.
- Coordinate with OEMs and third-party service providers to manage warranty claims, service contracts, and technical support.
- Lead and mentor maintenance teams, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in fleet management and mobile equipment maintenance, preferably in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Proven track record in managing multi-site operations or a large, distributed fleet.
- Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience in quarry or mining operations.
