Role Overview

The Logistics Software Consultant I plays a critical role in translating customer requirements into executable software solutions. Working closely with internal teams and clients, this position supports the detailed design and implementation of automation systems using modern information technologies. The consultant ensures system feasibility, clarity of communication, and thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers to clarify technical and functional requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive interface documentation and software specification sheets.
  • Produce internal documentation for use by project execution teams.
  • Design and execute test plans for factory and customer-specific acceptance tests.
  • Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT) and internal system validation.
  • Submit and manage software development requests as needed.
  • Coordinate technical planning sessions with engineering teams across disciplines.
  • Support implementation teams including planning, software development, and commissioning.
  • Maintain and update customer-specific documentation during project execution.
  • Evaluate system layouts to ensure alignment with software requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to support timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Notify stakeholders of deviations from the original project scope.
  • Oversee coordination with third-party software suppliers and integrators.


Technical & Functional Competencies

  • Gather and synthesize input from departments such as Sales, Project Management, Planning, and Development.
  • Independently define and confirm IT system specifications with customers (e.g., host protocols, requirement documents).
  • Conduct and assess software factory and acceptance testing.
  • Draft clear and actionable development requests based on project needs.
  • Provide mentorship and onboarding support for new team members.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous learning and skill development.

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Logistics Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of system architecture (software, hardware, integration).
  • Familiarity with logistics operations and customer workflow processes.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office and related internal tools.
  • Fluent in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
