Our client is a global leader within flavours, fragrances and ingredients. They are seeking a Director of Planning to lead the coordination of all planning and inventory control activities across the North America Supply Chain. This includes leading a team of indirect and direct reports across multiple manufacturing facilities.


We are looking for a strong leader who can proactively support daily functions and continuous improvement of department processes, equipment, and personnel, and help achieve business goals.


The Role

  • Responsible for all aspects of planning and inventory control for the NA Supply Chain. Manages the planning department to optimise business results, including On Time Shipping and Operating Working Capital (inventory).
  • Responsible for the development, training, and supervision of direct reports. Lead and develop the team to deliver unparalleled customer service.
  • Drives continuous improvement of the Supply Chain processes and the utilisation of digital tools.
  • Manages the Inventory Control Department, ensuring timely updates of key performance indicators and coordinating activities to drive actions on slow-moving, obsolete inventory, and warehouse consolidation. Completes corrections to the current ERP system.
  • Participates in the S&OP Process as an active representative. Leads the S&OP Long Term Review meetings.
  • Responsible for the optimal usage of the Oracle MRP system, including safety stock and reorder point levels and for establishing/running the process to ensure that the settings are reviewed to minimise inventory.
  • Display strong cross-functional teamwork with Customer Service, Production, Quality and Sales Support to obtain order status and changes.
  • Understand and execute all requirements for ISO 9001
  • Remain accountable for all defined responsibilities as outlined in the ISO 9001 process flow.
  • Commitment to the company and SQF Quality Standards, and continuous improvement of the quality management systems.


The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Supply Chain / Manufacturing experience.
  • Strong supervisory skills, strong mathematical skills, advanced proficiency in ERP, Production Systems, and MS365, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP is preferred.
  • Experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports across multiple facilities.
  • Good exposure to sales and operations planning.
