Description
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee operations at our 1 million tonnes per year hard rock aggregates facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale quarry operations, including drill and blast oversight, production management, and leading teams of 20+ employees. This is a critical leadership position offering a company vehicle, full relocation support, and a chance to lead a high-output site with a strong safety and performance record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day operations of the hard rock quarry, ensuring safe and efficient production of high-quality aggregates.
- Oversee and coordinate drill and blast activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maximizing efficiency and fragmentation.
- Supervise a workforce of over 20 employees, including plant operators, mechanics, and support staff.
- Develop and execute production schedules, maintenance plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with MSHA and other applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor and report on plant performance, KPIs, and cost metrics; take corrective action when needed.
- Collaborate with senior management, engineering, and sales to align plant goals with broader business objectives.
- Manage site budgets, procurement, and cost control measures.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in aggregate or mining operations, including substantial experience in drill and blast coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of crushing, screening, material handling, and preventative maintenance.
- Strong understanding of blasting techniques, regulatory compliance, and explosives management.
- Degree or diploma in Mining, Engineering, or related field is preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
