Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design / Project Engineer to lead and support the planning, design, and optimization of operations across four quarry facilities. This role will play a key part in streamlining plant efficiency, developing engineering solutions, and executing capital projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and engineering of plant improvements, expansions, and new installations across four quarry sites.
  • This is a highly collaborative role that requires technical expertise in aggregate processing systems, pumping equipment, and electrical systems integration.
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance production throughput.
  • Prepare detailed CAD drawings, layout plans, and technical specifications for plant equipment, structural components, and system modifications.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to align design solutions with site requirements and company standards.
  • Manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and contractor coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment upgrades or replacements based on performance data and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, project files, and as-built drawings.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in plant or facility design, preferably in the aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of aggregate processing equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and wash plants.
  • Experience with pumping systems and fluid handling equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and integration with mechanical equipment.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with OSHA, MSHA, and other relevant safety standards.
