Safety Manager – Commercial Electrical Projects (Virginia)


A well-established electrical contractor with a strong reputation in the commercial sector is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator to support projects in Suffolk, VA. This role is critical to maintaining a safe working environment across active job sites, ensuring compliance with safety policies while supporting field teams directly.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee implementation of company and client safety programs on commercial project sites.
  • Conduct frequent site inspections, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective measures are taken.
  • Work with site supervisors and foremen to plan safe methods for non-routine tasks.
  • Lead new-hire safety orientations and actively participate in toolbox talks and site safety meetings.
  • Deliver field-based equipment and safety training to employees as required.
  • Support hazard recognition, prevention, and correction efforts across multiple projects.
  • Provide on-site first aid and CPR response when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and ensure compliance with company, client, and OSHA requirements.
  • Travel to different project sites may be required.


Key Requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a safety-related role within commercial electrical or construction environments.
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check and MVR check.
