The Role & Responsibilities
The role of Senior Electrical Engineer is an exciting and senior level opportunity to join an expanding team and business who are heavily invested in the Electrical Engineering sectors in the United States.
This senior level opportunity will focus on leading major electrical projects across the Northeast area of the USA, managing the design of complex and leading profile low and medium voltage electrical power systems, focusing on Water, Wastewater and Industrial projects.
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will also be the client representative, handling technical queries and ensuring client satisfaction for both industrial and municipal clients in the region.
- Oversee the successful design and delivery of a wide portfolio of Electrical Engineering projects for both public and private clients, focussed on Water, Wastewater and Industrial facilities.
- Oversee the electrical design from the initial concepts, design, construction and into commissioning, working closely with the client.
- Undertake the design of complex electrical systems including layout substations, standby power, lighting, data communications, fire alarm, relay logic and instrumentation and control systems.
- Actively work alongside other technical disciplines including SCADA, I&C, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and architects to deliver detailed solutions.
- Review submittals, RFI’s, undertake field inspections, ensure quality control and compliance with standards and regulations.
- Ability to undertake short circuit calculations, arc flash analysis, overcurrent coordination, photometric studies.
- Mentor and develop junior staff members, helping them to advance and increase their knowledge.
Requirements\Qualifications
- Educated with a Bachelor of Science in a related field. (Or equivalent years of experience)
- Ideally P.E Certified.
- Minimum of 8 years of Electrical Design Engineering experience in the USA, ideally across Water, Wastewater or Industrial facilities.
- Experience of working with GE Multilin, SEL or similar relay types.
- Demonstrable understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Ability to use software applications including SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Visual 3D, Dialux, AutoCAD.
