Description

I am currently partnered with one of the leading companies in sourcing, transforming, and distributing speciality industrial minerals. The company offers a range of work across industries as diverse as glass, ceramics, construction, coatings, polymers, and water purification


They are looking for a Sr. Process Control Engineer to analyse and develop Statistical Process Control solutions for numerous chemical processes (leaching and high-temperature reactors) at their plants, where they produce High Purity Quartz, to ensure the consistent quality of their product while maximising volume


This role is based in Spruce Pine/ Bakersville North Carolina and require the selected individual to be on site.


Your Impact in this role:

  • Build the foundation for SPC implementation for various processes, e.g., develop procedures and methods to analyze data, evaluate process capabilities, and identify opportunities to optimize process parameters to create more consistency
  • Leverage Statistical Process Control to prevent non-conformances and reduce product variation through standard measurement plans, implementation of advanced gaging and sampling methodology
  • Support Operations in reviewing and adjusting calibrations of processes to meet new limits and boundaries to improve process efficiency and product quality.
  • Together with our Continuous Improvement team, support root cause analysis on any internal or external non-conformances. This may include 5 Why, PFMEA, or other similar methodologies
  • Work with Plant Managers to implement effective corrective actions addressing process deviations


Requirements:

  • BS/ MS degree in Chemical/ Metallurgical Engineering, with a strong background in Statistics and improvement.
  • 10+ years of experience with process development, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), & FMEA fundamentals
  • Experience in process automation
  • Experience in Data Visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Fluency in the local language and written and spoken English.
