Description
I am partnered with a rapidly-growing distributor of Mexican Vegetables, who are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join their team. This position will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing timely financial reporting to support business decisions and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports and statements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Analyze operating costs and identify areas for improved efficiency.
- Maintain and reconcile grower accounts, including the calculation of advances and preparation of final settlements.
- Process banking transactions, including wire transfers.
- Manage petty cash accounts and related reconciliations.
- Support year-end closing processes.
- Coordinate with external CPA, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and reporting requirements.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accounting and financial operations.
- Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support executive decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
- Experience in the Fresh Produce industry is strongly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
