Role Overview:
The Vice President of Finance will be responsible for leading all financial, accounting, controlling, and IT functions of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting business decision-making through sound financial management. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the organization’s financial strategy, planning, reporting, budgeting, and risk management practices.
- Provide financial insights and operational recommendations that support long-term business strategy.
- Direct accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.
- Act as a key business partner, offering financial expertise and strategic counsel to the executive team.
- Evaluate the financial impact of strategic plans, new initiatives, and market or regulatory changes.
- Implement and manage robust financial controls, systems, and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee treasury management, including banking relationships and cash flow forecasting.
- Ensure timely completion of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts; support internal and external audits and tax filings.
- Maintain business and insurance registrations, coordinate insurance programs, and support legal and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and mentor a team of five direct reports in finance and related functions.
- Oversee information technology operations and infrastructure, including security and compliance.
- Manage additional corporate functions including facilities, risk management, and certain administrative functions.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
- ERP system oversight and financial automation
- Internal auditing and project closing procedures
- Tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Support legal review of commercial contracts
- Represent the company in financial and compliance matters
- Ensure a culture of integrity, fiduciary responsibility, and leadership within the finance function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA certification preferred
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, ideally within manufacturing or industrial sectors
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting, and tax regulations
- Proven ability to manage teams, drive organizational change, and influence across departments
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with senior leadership
- Experience with ERP systems and financial software
- Ability to solve complex financial and operational problems using independent judgment and data analysis
