We are working alongside our client in the Ag-Tech sector to hire a General Manager to lead a high-growth business unit focused on farmer adoption, platform growth, commercial partnerships, and revenue expansion.

Our client is a leading digital agriculture company helping farmers improve profitability through data-driven decision making, agronomic insights, financial modelling, and market access solutions. Their platform serves thousands of farmers while partnering with major organisations across agriculture, finance, and food supply chains.
Location: Germany or Remote (EU)
Travel: Frequent travel across Europe
The Role
Responsible for owning a farmer-focused business unit, including commercial strategy, partnerships, product direction, team leadership, and P&L performance. This role combines entrepreneurial leadership with strategic execution and will play a critical role in scaling farmer adoption across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Own business unit strategy, commercial performance, and P&L accountability.
- Develop and execute farmer acquisition and growth strategies.
- Build strategic partnerships with financial institutions, food companies, agronomy networks, and agricultural organisations.
- Lead major commercial negotiations and partnership agreements.
- Collaborate closely with product leadership to align market opportunities with product development.
- Scale and develop a cross-functional business unit team.
- Create and execute growth plans across multiple European markets.
- Evaluate partnership opportunities and develop scalable go-to-market models.
- Manage commercial forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Act as a senior leader within the organisation, influencing company-wide strategy.
Requirements\Qualifications
- 8–15 years of experience across commercial leadership, business development, product, or general management roles.
- Experience operating within B2B platforms, marketplaces, Ag-Tech, Ag-Fintech, food-tech, or supply chain technology businesses.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership and commercial accountability.
- Track record building strategic channel partnerships at scale.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in high-growth environments.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with product and operational understanding.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience navigating ambiguity and scaling businesses.
- Deep understanding of agriculture, farming systems, or food supply chains preferred.
- Founder or early-stage scaling experience highly desirable.
