We are working alongside our client in the Ag-Tech sector to hire a Senior Account Executive.

The client

Our client is an innovative precision agriculture company helping growers optimize irrigation, improve yields, and increase profitability through real-time plant, soil, weather, and irrigation data. Their technology enables growers to make better operational decisions while conserving one of agriculture's most valuable resources, water.


Location: California

Travel: Extensive travel throughout California & the Pacific Northwest


The Role

Responsible for driving strategic market development across California and the Pacific Northwest by winning high-value growers, generating new business through proactive prospecting, and managing complex consultative sales cycles from initial engagement through to close.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a long-term territory growth strategy focused on high-value growers and strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through cold calling, field visits, referrals, networking, industry events, email, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Lead complex sales cycles including discovery, product demonstrations, ROI discussions, commercial negotiations, and closing.
  • Build executive-level relationships with growers, farm owners, and operators by understanding their business challenges and delivering value-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with Agronomy, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and long-term growth.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM records.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events, and regional agricultural conferences.
  • Consistently exceed sales activity, pipeline, and revenue targets while sharing commercial best practices across the team.


Requirements\Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of quota-carrying B2B sales experience with a proven record of exceeding targets.
  • Proven success generating new business through proactive outbound prospecting.
  • Experience managing complex consultative sales cycles.
  • Strong understanding of California specialty crop agriculture.
  • Excellent business development, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
  • Must reside in California and be willing to travel extensively throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.
  • Ag-Tech experience or knowledge of precision agriculture, irrigation technology, crop inputs, agricultural equipment, or agricultural services is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Plant Science, Business, or a related field is preferred.
