Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits

I'm currently partnering with a leading manufacturer of automated industrial equipment on a confidential search for a Manager of Equipment Engineering.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of a multidisciplinary engineering function, leading the design, development, and delivery of custom automated machinery for a diverse range of industrial markets.

The successful candidate will lead mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams while driving engineering excellence through improved processes, standardisation, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering.
  • Oversee the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through validation, release, and ongoing product support.
  • Drive engineering best practices, including design reviews, documentation standards, configuration management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Service to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support customer design reviews, technical discussions, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Manage engineering resources, budgets, KPIs, and departmental performance while developing and mentoring engineering talent.

We're interested in speaking with engineering leaders who have experience in:

  • Industrial Automation
  • Custom Machinery
  • Machine Building
  • OEM Equipment Manufacturing
  • Systems Integration
  • Electromechanical Systems
  • Robotics & Automation
  • Special Purpose Machinery

Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proven experience delivering automated industrial equipment or custom machinery within an OEM or systems integration environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, controls systems, automation architecture, CAD/PDM/PLM systems, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience implementing engineering processes, driving continuous improvement, and leading cross-functional project execution.
  • Familiarity with industrial machine safety standards (ANSI, NFPA 79, ISO 13849, UL508A) is highly desirable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you'll have the opportunity to shape engineering strategy, develop high-performing teams, and play a key role in delivering innovative automation solutions to customers across multiple industries.
