Description

Our client is a well-established, leading US fragrance house with decades of experience creating and manufacturing custom fragrances and flavors across health, home, beauty, food, industrial, and institutional markets. They have a strong track record of designing innovative, exciting fragrances that heighten the appeal of their customers' products, and are currently seeking a Senior/Fragrance Evaluator to join their team (title depending on experience level)


This position requires a combination of knowledge and skills including strong fragrance evaluation skills and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate is an experienced fragrance evaluation professional, proficient in the use of fragrance management software, and someone who is passionate, focused, motivated, and imaginative. They must also enjoy a professional, fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.


Position Description:

  • Possess a strong olfactive memory of classic fragrance families and market products
  • Read and interpret customer projects and apply to company projects
  • Select fragrances through the fragrance library, panel testing, or by working with perfumery on new creation and/or modification
  • Evaluate and analyze technical performance of fragrances in various bases including emulsions, waxes, and hydro-alcoholics
  • Maintain evaluation and product testing database
  • Motivate and aid the sales, perfumery, and marketing departments in creative inspiration for fragrance development, including fragrance trend analysis
  • Ongoing management of projects across all relevant departments to ensure client satisfaction and sales
  • Continuation of market study (domestic and international) by category and odor type
  • Familiarize with the fragrance philosophies of all major customers, product lines, fragrance preferences, and testing protocols
  • Create and present new concepts

  • Written Communication Skills: Strong writing skills to present ideas and support fragrance submissions
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches
  • Time Management: Managing one's own time to complete tasks within expected timeframes
  • Adaptability: Able to shift focus and attention as project priorities change
